Spinning a Tale

A Storytelling-Through-Zine-Making Masterclass

by Cé Simonis

Professional artist and risographer Cé Simonis will be taking us through a two day workshop on the relationship between image and text and the power of storytelling in the cosy environment of the Typewronger Studio.

During this class, you will discover innovative & fun ways of waking up your ideas and inspiration. Cé will guide you through the whole process of creating your zine from start to finish, showing you varied examples of word/image relationships for analysis and inspiration and sharing various technical tricks to make sure your finished work really pops when we print it from our risograph machine.  The class will be taught to a small group, with plenty of opportunities for you to receive personal advice and assistance in the development of your own word and image zine practice.

At the end of the class, you will go home with 40 copies of your own zine printed on our riso machine. You will have the opportunity to chose from our various paper stocks which include our standard Context Natural, but also our popular Loop papers such as Milkweed. We currently have eight ink drums - black, bright red, sunflower yellow, green, blue, purple, fluro-pink and metalic gold.
